Review: There are two powerful engines on offer - the 2.7 litre on the Boxster which develops 245 bhp and the 3.4 litre on the Boxster S which develops 295 bhp. Both have very fast acceleration of 5.0 - 6.0 seconds between 0-60 mph. With wider track, a low centre of gravity mid-mounted engine and variable ratio steering the Boxster hugs the road and has superb stability. Review (continued): The sports styled dash and instruments and air conditioning give further reassurance of quality if any was needed. It all combines to give a feel of confidence in the outstanding road abilities of this car and a sense of close connection between driver and machine. PSM (Porsche Stability Management) comes as standard as does POSIP (Porsche Side Impact Protection) including two side airbags in each seat, the thorax airbag (mentioned above) and head airbags located in the doors. The front windscreen has a strengthened frame and there are roll-over bars behind the seats. There is 280 litres of storage space - another feature unusual in its class. It's a superbly built and able car where nothing has been left out.
