Review (continued): Inside its rigid chassis - a feature that improves driving control - there is what Volkswagen have chosen to call 'the inner survival zone' which sounds a bit grim but does no more really than face driving risks head on. For the driver and passenger there are both front and side airbags plus curtain airbags protecting the front and middle row occupants from side impact. It's a heavy vehicle so it's not going to be fast on acceleration but that's probably not going to be your first consideration but running costs are quite reasonable.
